Good to Be National Tour Announced!

Our favorite Chicago radio station WXRT just announced our Double Door show in Chicago on February 13th, tickets are onsale this Saturday, January 9th @ 12pm CST on Ticketmaster! Now we’re very excited to announce our national Good to Be tour. You can check out full details on our tourdates page!

Premium Good to Be Package

G2Bcover-Final_250Good to Be is our first release on our own new record label, Kelsey Street Records .   Now that we’ve got the flexibility to do things our way, we’re rolling out a “Premium Good to Be” package which you can purchase at our webstore.

The package offers up early web access to the music, a copy of the CD, a ticket to your show of choice in the future and a limited edition album demos CD, we think it’s a pretty good deal.   If you would like to purchase the package as a Holiday present, we can email you a purchase certificate with package details so that you can give it as a gift.

Premium Good to Be Package includes:

  • Advance copy of Good to Be shipped out a week before release date

  • Limited edition “Demos of Good to Be” CD, including Ed Anderson’s home demos of  select songs on the record as well as the original “Indie Hipster Tastemaker” demo which became “Estelle” (only available with purchase of package)

  • One (1) ticket see Backyard Tire Fire in 2010 (any headlining date in 2010)

  • Access to private Good to Be listening party webpage, where you can stream entire record starting on January 25th,  there will be a forum to ask questions to Backyard Tire Fire about the songs or recording process

New Record “Good to Be” Coming February 16th, 2010

Happy December!  We’re very excited to announce that our next record Good to Be which was produced by Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, will be released on February 16th, 2010. The album will be available through our own new label Kelsey Street Records and will be distributed by Thirty Tigers/SonyRed who’ve released records by artists like James McMurtry, Jason Isbell, and Patterson Hood over the past few years.

4th Annual Holiday Jamboree – Saturday December 19th!

Jambore2009posterJoin us for the 4th Annual Holiday Jamboree at Daddio’s in Bloomington, featuring Backyard Tire Fire and Friends. Proceeds will once again benefit the YWCA McLean County’s Stepping Stones program.

2009 line-up: BACKYARD TIRE FIRE, MILES NIELSEN and band, BROTHER TRUCKER, CHICAGO FARMER w/special guests Scott Tipping, Tommy O’Donnell, Joe Kennedy, John Ganser & Tony SanFilippo!!!!

Stepping Stones provides 24-hour assistance for sexual assault and sexual abuse victims and their families in McLean County. This free, confidential service also serves as the central sexual assault resource and referral agency. Services focus on: empowering survivors, their families, and their friends on the path of healing, building relationships with professionals and agencies that will be part of the process, and educating the community about sexual assault.
